SciFi and Fantasy Art: Battery acid doing the art justiceyep, thanks to racheal's suggestion to try a different color style, here it is. for all those who aren't Mountain dew fanatics, battery acid is 3 giant pixi stix to the 2 liter bottle. Yes a background at last, boy it's been a while eh? I lost another colored pencil to the picture, I'm now black and purpleless. Anybody want to help the artist fund give me a buzz?? wait, all of us artists are poor, wahhhhhh..... I think I'm still high off the dew.... | |

| 11 Dec 2001 | Aido Rakaen | Hey! Sorry it took me so long. ^^;; It only took... what, a month? *nervous laugh* Okay, critique. Right. Neat use of colors, first. With the green and the yellow and the blue all mixed into the red. Surreal-y effect. *nod* I loves the feeling of depth with the tail coming forward, too. The bright green agianst the dull red does seem out of place, but I think that's the sugar talking. *snigger* The thing that really bothers me is the background. It's not smooth like the foreground. Doesn't fit at all and looks sloppily done. I'm not sure exactly what you were looking for, coloring advice or physiology advice or what... >_o I'm not so great at coloring stuff m'self, especially with prisma pencils. Arrrr... I'm done here. | |
| 6 May 2002 | Krystal Tyler | WOW!!! Your highlights and shadows are absolutely splendid!!!! I love the moose-like antlers and that incredibly long, spikey tail!!! Saweeeeeet! Awesome pic! | |
| 27 Aug 2002 | Sabina E. Horton | AHHH three giant pixi sticks mixed with mountain dew?! Mountain dew's too sweet as it is! Anyway, the colouring on this piece is fantastic. I haven't read all the comments so this probably isn't your first time reading this, but the proportions of the creature are strange. For instance, the head is too big, and the throat is too pointy. I know it's not an animal from real life, so the proportions can't really be "wrong," but I don't think the neck could even support such a big head. Also, the tail's bulges seem excessive. Sorry to be so critical. Overall it's still a very good picture (and has great colouring - did I mention that?) | |
| 13 Oct 2002 | Susanne Hansson | Wow. Nice one. Very nice. Very useful comment this. But it's a very nice picture. I love the way you coloured it. | |
